2027 NYS Community-Rated Health Plan Rates Have Been Approved. What does that mean for employers?

NEW HARTFORD, N.Y. (Sept. 10, 2026) — For the 20th consecutive year, Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy, Inc. (GKG) has been named a Best Practices Agency by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America (IIABA or the Big “I”) and Reagan Consulting.
This designation recognizes GKG’s exceptional business operations, including its outstanding customer retention, organic growth, stability and financial management. To be chosen, the agency’s data was analyzed, and analysis placed GKG among the top-performing agencies in one of seven revenue categories.
In 2026, approximately 1,190 agencies were nominated from a field of 39,000 independent insurance agencies nationwide. Just 300 agencies qualified for the designation, and GKG was one of 12 New York-based organizations selected.
