Reinsurance Fee Contribution Form Due November 15

Requirement: Reinsurance Fee

Deadline: November 15

Description:  During the benefit year, contributing entities must submit their reinsurance fee contribution form with their annual enrollment count to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) by Nov. 15. HHS provides an Annual Enrollment and Contributions Submission Form Manual to assist with compliance.

After the benefit year, contributing entities making two reinsurance fee payments must remit the second contribution payment by Nov. 15. The second installment fee includes amounts allocated towards payments to the U.S. Treasury.


  • If your health plan is currently fully-insured, this fee should already be built into your premium and your health insurance carrier will pay it on your behalf. 
  • If your health plan is self-insured, you will need to work with your Third Party Administrator to ensure this fee is paid.
