New York State’s Paid Family Leave (PFL) program is fast approaching (1/1/18). While the cost of the program is funded completely by employees, it will mean new compliance and leave management responsibilities for employers.
For employers who are not currently subject to FMLA, the necessary leave tracking and management will be a new responsibility; but, even for employers who are already subject to FMLA, this legislation will likely add a new layer of complexity to it all.
