New Hartford, NY Y(July 12, 2017) – Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy Inc. (GKG) of New Hartford, New York has expanded its professional team with the addition of employee benefits specialist Mark J. Meile, who has joined the agency as Vice President—Strategic Business Advisor.
Meile was most recently with the Syracuse office of Brown & Brown Insurance, where he was Vice President of Employee Benefits. At GKG he will work with a broad spectrum of benefits and property/casualty insurance clients in Central New York and across the state to address their overall exposure to risk, helping them stay attractive to good employees, competitive in their marketplace, and in control of their insurance expenses
Meile is a graduate of SUNY Polytechnic Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Following positions in the banking and finance fields, he began his insurance career with Brown & Brown in 2005 as a benefits consultant, thereafter rising to Vice President. In addition to Brown & Brown, he has also worked professionally for the Haylor, Freyer & Coon insurance firm of Syracuse.
Meile holds the Group Benefits Disability Specialist (GBDS) designation, in addition to the New York State life and health insurance license. He is a member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and has been active in a number of youth sports programs. He is a native of Syracuse and resides in Liverpool, New York.
