New Hartford, NY (October 20, 2017) – Gilroy Kernan & Gilroy Inc. (GKG) of New Hartford, New York has announced another expansion of its professional team with the appointment of Michele Luke as Director of Client Strategy for Employee Benefits.
Her responsibilities in the newly created position encompass working with managers and strategic advisors to promote business retention and growth in the employee benefits division, including the delivery of GKG’s trademark far from ordinary risk management experience for clients, and fostering optimum working relationships with benefits insurance carriers.
Luke brings nearly three decades of insurance experience to the post, in both the benefits and property/casualty sectors of the industry. She was most recently director of Central New York sales, ancillary and reinsurance for MVP Health Care. Prior to that she was a sales executive with Capital District Physicians’ Health Plan. She began her career with the Day & Reed agency in Ilion, New York, where she handled personal and commercial lines insurance programs.
Luke was a charter board member of the Greater Central New York Association of Health Underwriters and is a board member of the Mohawk Valley Society for Human Resource Management. She holds an A.A.S. degree in sales and marketing from Herkimer County Community College. A native of Ilion, she currently resides in Sauquoit, New York.
